I am pleased to announce the selection of Joseph A.
Scott Waugh, UCLA executive vice chancellor and provost, is scheduled to appear June 30 on a live public radio program to discuss the effect of state funding reductions on UCLA, higher education and the future of the state.
The "Politics of Culture" on KCRW (89.9 FM) airs live at 2:30 p.m.
Although the State Legislature is still at odds over how to slash the state budget to deal with a $24 billion deficit, it is very likely that the governor's proposed $619 million cut to UC's budget for 2009-10 will stand, UCLA's budget chief told the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, June 11.
